As we are at the mid-point between ISI Inspections we would like to seek feedback from parents via an in-house survey. The links to the questionnaires are included in the e-mail version of this letter. Thank you, in advance, for your support for this.
Thank you to the parents who supported our E-Safety drop-in on Wednesday afternoon. Plans are afoot to invite parents to a more formal talk as the demand for information in this ever changing area of modern life remains high.
Thank you to all those who have booked their appointments on the Parents’ Evening booking system. Mrs Sharp has asked me to remind you of a couple of points for future meetings. Firstly, could you please bring a copy of the appointments on the evening, and secondly could you check that you have made appointments for all the teachers you would like to see – there will be very little leeway for further appointments on the night. Thank you in advance for this. The Year 4 Evening follows next week on Tuesday (26 January) and we look forward to catching up with many of you then. Children will be supervised in the Dining Room after the end of school on Parents’ Evenings.
Well done to the long list of musicians who impressed us with their performances at lunchtime today. It was a pleasure to see the new Recital Room in action. Thank you, as ever, to all the parents who supported the concert.
News from the Sportsfield
We have had another busy sporting week and, despite some frozen pitches elsewhere, we had 18 teams representing the school at hockey and netball on Wednesday. Well done to the 1st VII and U11 netball sides who both battled long and hard through eight/nine matches on a bitterly cold day at the very competitive Bryanston tournament. Both sides came 3rd in their respective groups and then 10th overall in a very large field.
Well done to all the Year 7 and 8 pupils who braved the bracing conditions at Bryanston on Thursday afternoon. Congratulations to Joe W who finished an impressive 10th in a very large field of 120+ runners. The girls’ team were led by Maddy H (21st/170+) and came a very credible 6th out of 43 teams. Special mention also to Alicia H (30th), Rosie I (32nd), Flora H (39th) and Gabriel S (45th) and a big thank you to all the runners for representing the school.
World Food Day
Year 2 have enjoyed a wonderful day full of food and cooking from all around the world! Mrs Brown has introduced them to the tastes of exotic food from China and India teaching about the origin and use of various spices and even their medicinal value.
While we have yet to suffer serious ice and snow this year, we are still keen to be ready for all eventualities and it may be crucial for us to contact you all immediately. Can we please ask that you update the school with any changes to your mobile telephone number or preferred e-mail address. Updates can be telephoned through to the School Office or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
Minibus Parking Area
Please could all members of the school community keep the minibus bays by the Staff Room Courtyard clear of all cars. Cars parked in this area prevent the safe drop-off and pick-up of children and put our most precious cargo at unnecessary risk. Thank you.
Parents’ Seminar: Examinations in the Junior Years
Thank you very much to parents who are supporting Mrs Sharp’s seminar on the examinations in Years 3, 4 and 5, tonight at 5pm in the Assembly Hall. For those unable to attend a leaflet has been produced which will be on the Parents’ Area of the website (in the Exams section) from this evening.
